Teachers — explore how the ag industry is improving soil integrity and water quality. These lessons address Ohio Science Standards in 7th and 8th grade science, biology, and environmental science.

Network with industry and fellow educators, practice a variety of labs focused on water and soil science, and connect agriculture to your classroom. Here’s the agenda:

  • Soil and sustainability: texture and structure, nutrient testing, lawn chemicals and edge of field impact
  • Lunch: Industry experts discuss the importance of technology in agriculture as it relates to soil and water quality
  • Water quality: chemical tests, biotic sampling and quality conclusion

Each participant will receive a water quality kit and a soil test kit, worth $175. In addition, three teachers will each receive a kick seine net worth $110.
